Following a successful competition entry Kieferle & Partner was in 2006 awarded its biggest commission to date the “Jewel of the Creek” a mega Mixed-Use development at the waterfront of Dubai’s initial base pulse, the Creek – and with a built-up area of over 1,000,000 sq. m.

Inspiration for the winning of this international competition was drawn from the steady movement and flow of the Creek, reflecting not only the source of Dubai’s wealth, but also being a trigger and metaphor of its unique transition to an international destination and business hub. This guiding principle was used on all 17 towers, which have been designed in a soft edged, wave like manner, almost floating along the Creek.

The entire development was planned in a way that all towers would have equal paramount views and in embedding the principles of natural ventilation to reduce cooling requirements in the hot summer months.

Tunnels have been integrated as main entry points to the four-level basement, with all traffic, service accesses and circulation being planned entirely through an underground structure, creating a safe, pedestrian and car free development.

This further elevates the residential and hospitality experience in enriching the on-ground level through an extensive and immersive offering of outdoor leisure and recreational spaces for its inhabitants and visitors.

Given the project’s magnitude, a power station catering the entire development as well as a dedicated district cooling plant were constructed in proximity to solely serve this development.

The center piece and heart, the most striking key feature of the entire development is its unique luxury hospitality waterfront island – with five towers prominently rising along the marina and partially up and above the Creek itself.

The oval shaped 5* Hotel comprises of 430 rooms and suites, as well as 340 Hotel Apartments in its neighboring towers all linked through a common podium.

Three of the Hotel apartment towers are elevated on a complex structure making them float along the creek to maximize the waterfront experience – making it one of the unique key features of the Jewel of the Creek.

The podium has been designed to offer a vibrant F&B and Retail scene with terraces presenting unparalleled views over the creek and city.

Luxurious outdoor pools and scenic roof gardens will further enrich and contribute to this unique guest and living experience.

The Creekside promenade is also the access to the harbor component with berths being spaced out, to allow boats in various sizes up to mega yachts.

Once fully completed the development will cover additional residential and office towers, as well as a large-scale event center and club house making it one of the most sought out destination hubs within the city catering to its residents and visitors alike, adding a vibrancy and pulse to this side of Dubai.
